MICROLIGHT AROBATIC FLIGHTS

There can be no better way to get an idea of the changing landscapes that South Africa offers than from the seat of a microlight. Once you get over the fact there is little between your seat and terra firma as you bounce down the grassy runway you will soon marvel at the rich plains of the Midlands of KwaZulu Natal as you soar towards the majestic Drakensberg Mountains in the distance.  Microlights, as their name suggests, are small, lightweight and incredibly manoeuverable offering them a freedom that no other aircraft can replicate.

From their base near Cato Ridge, the pilots from Light Flight will take you low enough to see ostrich and impala charging across planes and buffalo congregating around waterholes, as the landscape changes from dry and dusty scrubland to rich pastures and teeming waterfalls. And then come the acrobatics. Depending on the strength of your constitution the pilots will bank, rotate, soar and fall before going head to head in a scene straight out of Top Gun – leaving you with a grin etched across your face and your stomach somewhere back in Cape Town.
